Liverpool Cove

One point of entry to the upstream waters of Mallows Bay is through Liverpool Cove. This calm creek is dominated by aquatic plants like Spatterdock, a type of water lily with yellow flowers. Other freshwater marsh plants, such as Green arrow arum (also known as Tuckahoe) and Pickerel weed, may also be seen. This area provides habitat for several juvenile fish species, such as striped bass, yellow perch, and American shad, as well as habitat for birds and semi-aquatic mammals.
